All About Pocket Knives

I haven't been posting much. I don't have a work shop, I have a garage and I am constantly reminded that the purpose of a garage is to park cars in, especially in the dead of winter and not repair knives in - women just don't get it.
I also suggested that scraping windshields in sub zero weather might be considered exercise - well, we won't go there.
Anyway found this old knife in some clunkers I bought and just marveled at the old repair job on the scales. I thought I would share it. Someone spent a lot of time making an almost seamless repair on the knife. Makes you think it must have had a lot of sentimental value to the owner. I am adding it to my collection "as is" with pride.

As for the garage, I feel your pain, been there, done that. I kept telling my wife, "the driveway is for cars, the garage is for my stuff" !! Didn't fly.

But I fixed that little problem. When we moved to Nebraska, we picked an older house where the garage had been converted to a room. I might still have to dig a car out every so often in winter, but the payoff was worth it. The basement is MINE !!! (or at least thats what she tells me.......)

LOL I have a rule at my house, if I'm in the garage, workin on knives, I'm not available. Unless of course Mama changes that rule. In 30 years, that rule has been modified a few times.

I asked why.
She said so I don't have to come find you.
I said I'm going out there so you won't pester me for a while and the walk will do you good.
Lets just say that went over like a lead balloon.

LOL, I have made that unfortunate mistake a time or 2 in 30 years. Man, marriage is hard!

Well Bob, it's a neat old knife. It's a shame they didn't put as much care in the blade as they did in the handle. Sorry about your thread taking a left turn at Albuquerque.

Of course I drop what I am doing (unless I am working with epoxy) and take her the soda.

Love that Primble Barlow, Bob. Those are excellent old knives. As for the rest of ya, you need to let them women know who wears the pants around your house. Uh oh, here she com... ..OUCH!!!
