Here are a few more early pearlies, and then I'm gonna run away and hide before thegreedygulo shows up with the REALLY GOOD STUFF!

O.K. just a couple more. First is the poor man's version of the office knife like Dimitri posted, except with the celluloid handles and script Boker tang stamp. Second is an H. DORWAL, made by Boker for the Canadian market. I believe it is pre-WW2.

These pictures are all reposts from other threads, but here's another look. All the knives shown below were made by H. Boker & Co's Improved Cutlery (Circa. 1869-1914).

MRB: That is the only H. Boker office knife I have ever seen in pearl (except in old pictures). If you ever want to sell it, please feel free to keep me in mind . GREAT knife & GREAT thread! I hope there's a lot of old knives posted.

These knives are all very early Boker stamps. The ones stamped with an x that has an arrow through it are circa. 1850-1875.

The two stamped with H. Boker's Improved Cutlery only (no & Co's.) are circa. 1860-1880's.

Here are the only two Boker knives I have. I've shown the slim sleeveboard jack before. The second one I picked up recently. The handles are cloissone.

MRB: It's an old one. Goins lists that particular tang stamp as being circa. 1869-1914 while Mark Zalesky listed it as circa. 1891-1944 in his Boker article in Knife World. Mark is probably basing the 1891 date on the steel tariff enacted in that year. Since your knife does have a country of origin stamp on its tang, it's 1891 or later. NICE, old knife!

Joe, I love the bone on your whittler.

Just won this one on Ebay this evening? H. Boker & Co. Solingen. Stainless blades. The handles are described as bone but they sure look like old stag, chip and crack free. Can anybody put a date on that stamp?

Thanks Joe. It was sold by a fellow AAPKer "thefarside" and he says bone. It looks staggy to me too.

TJ: Nice knife! I saw that one on ebay & you got a great deal. The tang stamp dates it to circa. 1919-1932. In my opinion the handles are worm groove bone. Congrats.

Thanks Gulo - I do have the knife in hand now and it is indeed bone, very nice bone. A bigger knife than I expected which is good and very hefty. It's got a worn tang where it rides on the spring from being slightly smaller than the spring, no snap opening but does snap shut. This does not bother me and was part of the description. Belonged to fellow AAPKer "thedarkside". Over-all, very nice knife.

Very nice knives Gulo. The stamp on mine is not "improved" which I guess dates it a little later than yours.

Here's one I don't think I've ever shown. It has the block letter BOKER stamp. Probably circa 1930s.
