All About Pocket Knives

Ideas about protecting your knife when carrying it in your pocket.I don't want lint and any more pocket worn handles.I've finally been able to keep the last 2 EDCs long enough to significantly wear the handles.

Do they make a small knife "sock"?

I have a couple I'll trade ya. I just don't like to lose the jigging pattern.I agree the pocket wear seems to liven the coloration of most handles.

Google RGLeather for a friend of mine who not only makes beautiful knife sheaths, but also pocket sheaths (usually from softer calf skin) that sound like just what you're looking for.

Aha, I new it was "R" something leather, I couldn't remember who made the buckaroo slips . I agree he does very nice work.

I bought a belt off him. He does EXCELLENT work and Rick is also a great guy. I'm not just saying that because he's an old Marine.

Most sheath makers can make a simple fold over type slip case to carry your knife in.
They use thin soft leather that protects the knife and isn't bulky in the pocket.

I have one, but don't know where it is at the moment, but they are very simple; folded on one side and sewn on the other side and along the bottom. If I can find it I will post a pic.

If they use nice gloving leather, or something similar, they are very thin & comfortable to carry.

Also check out the "PocketSlip" from KSF. I have a couple of these and have been using them for a while now with my Gunboat, these are great....

buckskin has worked pretty well for me in the past

The ones Dale was describing are like the ones that Rick makes from calf skin. Very thin and soft,

I can see where a pouch would keep out lint and what-have-ya, but wouldn't you still get pocket wear? The handles are still going to be rubbing against something.
Personally, I like pocket worn.

I like it too but usually the knives fit rather tight in the slips and the leather rubs against the inside of your pocket instead of the handles. The leather kind of grips the knife and keeps it from shifting reducing friction against them.

This simple little soft leather pouch came with this Eye Witness knife.
Works well from scratches and wear.
I'm sure one could be made pretty easy.
