All About Pocket Knives

I've got a 6" JPK with a broken tang. I've contemplated welding (OK, "I've contemplated having a competent welder weld) and extension to the tang so I can replace the handle. From my blacksmithing days I seem to recall some problems with tang extensions welded to stick tang knives. What is going to be the best way to do this?

A decent mig or tig welder should be able to fix you right up. Probably take about 10 minutes or less.

I agree, especially if it isn't broken right next to be blade.
If it is broken next to the blade, TIG welding would be preferable because of the lower heat.

Thanks guys! What I know about welding (other than forge welding) could be written broad on the head of a pin.
