All About Pocket Knives

Can this be done on this knife ? It belonged to my Dad and I would like to carry it. Maybe it is not possible or just plain to much time and work , but I am curious. The 2 small blades have no snap and that does not concern me as much. I am new to knife repair. Pics are not that good.

Definitely possible. You'd have to replace the spring. That would require some minor work (pin removal, etc)

Depending on what maker, someone around here might actually have a spare spring. Other have made their own springs too.

stainless cut co knives are bad about broken backsprings. I've seen more broken backsprings on that brand than any other. It needs a replacement spring, either an original, one modded to fit or a new one from scratch.

Do you think the rockwell hardness level is too high on these knives making them so brittle that they break easily or do you think the problem is design flaws?

early ss knives they didnt have the ideal temper figured out yet and made them too hard
