I've wanted to go to that for years. I'll never forgive my father for making leave Arizona when I was eight. I still haven't managed to get back there again. I loved the desert and all the snakes and lizards.

strange as it seems but we have an annual rattlesnake roundup every year just down the road from me in northeast pa. a town called, noxen pa.
they aren't as plentiful as the texas vipers, but we still have enough of them.

They're popular in Pennsylvania Chet. I went to this one years ago:

It was a hot day and they were selling huge cups of draft beer for 50 cents. It got pretty lively.

When my wife and I would visit her family in Southwest Louisiana I would snake hunt every chance I got.........with a .22 rifle. Killed twelve cottenmouth's in about two hours out of her uncle's pond.

When I lived up in Jack County. Having a rattler on the porch or under the house was a weekly affair.

The ones on the porch didn't bother me as much as the ones under the house. I'd have to shut off the pilot light on my water heater, and then take a quart of drip gas and pitch under the house and wait for the snake to leave. Didn't take 'em long to vacate from that stinking stuff. I usually introduced 'em to their maker as they made their exit.

Copperheads bother me worse than rattlers. At least you usually know there's a rattler around by the racket they make. Copperheads don't give you that warning. Didn't see too many of those damn things though. Just enough to make ya REAL careful about grabbing junk down in the weeds.
