If you get a chance to go, stop for lunch at the Like Like Drive-in (pronounced Leaky Leaky) in Honolulu. It's across the street from Walmart. And if you get a chance to have a piece of Ted's Pie, don't pass it up.

I like pie. :D They sent my dad to Honolulu for R & R during WWII, I still have some souvenirs he picked up there. That is one place I'd like to visit.

The ship I was on made several port calls to Pearl. While we were there we were moored not to far fron the Arizona Memorial. I would get up at revelie and go an egg and meat sandwich and a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up over the Memorial. What a beautiful site to see. I had an occasion to visit the Memorial and it was quite a sobering moment. Also the pock marks from Japense bullets were still visiable on the buildings in the area. ftd
