Hello all,

I'm at the hospital today .... waiting on a good friend to get out of surgery and I was using the hospitals wifi ... that is until I decided to get on this site, AAPK and read some of the new articles.

HMMMMMM, ACCESS DENIED : REASON, WEAPON RELATED ..... That was the caption I read .....

Now, a Dr. uses a scalpel all day long in the Operating Room ..... I feel like opening up one of the doors and yelling ACCESS DENIED ...... Oh, but a scalpel is a tool ..... Hey Mr. Dummy IT Guy at the hospital ..... SO is a pocket knife.

So glad I have wifi on my phone !!!!!!

That's a shame. A friend of mine would describe your experience as an example of "the wussification of America." ::td::

Might be you were destined to find this so you could approach hospital administrators
to educate them that knives are tools not just weapons.
A No.2 pencil can be used as a weapon but they still allow them in schools right? Write??
If they don't seem receptive or fail to offer to take it under advisement then you may
want to suggest they also block all the motorcycle manufacturers.
In their hospital setting they have seen enough negative 2 wheeled circumstances to
justify denying access to them as well.
Yep, sounds like you were chosen to do some training.

I had similar situation a few years ago when I emailed my brother to show him
the new knife I purchased with the amazon gift card he sent me.
His response was 'I didn't know Amazon sold weapons'.
I answered back 'they don't but they do sell tools'.

T. J., thanks for those links, letters will be sent to those banks when I get my next (almost daily) credit card offers from them.

The day is soon coming when the government trucks will pull up outside your home, loaded down with concrete blocks & mortar mix, to wall up your stairways, cutting off access to the upper floors, (too may people hurt on stairway falls, you know). It's for our own good!

May god help our country, and thank God I am not a young man, having to face what the future will hold for this United States of America.

the county library system here in ****** had AAPK blocked, weapons...
so, being qualified as an old school librarian...i spent some time raising dust around the local governmental buildings....
CENSORSHIP, nasty word...in cowboy country, a knife is not a weapon...

the powers that be concluded it would be a community service to unblock AAPK, and have me on line, rather than in the lobby of city hall...
"who is in charge of censorship?"...no answer on that level...but i can now go to any library within 60 miles and get on line.

I've always referred to this as the "bug 'em til they beg you to leave them alone" approach, but henceforth I shall refer to it as the "Gringo method."

I have a friend on an Army Special Forces site that insists the decline we see occurring in America all started with T-Ball.

Everybody plays, no scoring, so no winners or losers and everybody gets a trophy.

Nothing left to work for or aspire to.

Now, the philosophy applies to almost every aspect of our lives.

T-ball was almost 40 years ago, but I recall worrying if I'd make the team. We played for blood, a couple of the playoff games went into extra innings. About the only thing I'll likely be remembered for in my hometown was my comment after the team I was on lost in the finals. "Second place? That means we lost, right?"

Seems they took away scoring and such for the little ones about the mid-80s (my baby brother played that year, he was the Official Un-official Scorekeeper for his team).
