Gotta Go To Bed

It's 4:10 AM in the morning and I've been sitting up almost all night because I tripped over that dam cat that the wife loves and fell down a set of stairs from upstairs plum to the bottom. It's bound to have broke something because the pain in my side and leg hasn't eased up any and it's been 4 or 5 hours since it happened. I'm going to try to lay down and see if that helps it any. If that cat did cause me to break something it's going to look like the one below.

I'm sending prayers Aimus, lets put it in God's hands. ::tu::
Sorry to hear you lost to a cat, we'll have to work on your leg strength.

You'd better go to the Emergency room. Broken ribs can cause real problems. If you don't have insurance tell them you are homeless, jobless, your name is Bob Jones and there is a man at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC who will pay the bill.

What IH said. It's foolish to not have something like this checked out. Stairs are the worst fall you can have.

It's 5:27 AM and I've been up all night again. I'm not hurting as bad as I was but I still feel like I've been hit by a truck then beaten with a baseball bat. Can't get comfortable sitting or laying down. Don't no one worry though, that dam cat is fine. :x He's even giving me those funny looks like, "I got you didn't I big boy? Now the next time I say I want Fancy Feast you had better get it for me and don't bother bringing that cheap Wal-Mart cat food home!" ::uc:: It's pitiful when a full grown 6 foot 2 inch tall 245 lb. man gets punked by a cat! More bed rest for me today so maybe I can feel like moving again. I've been in fights that didn't mess me up this bad. Oh but when I can get around good again, that cat has had it! ::smack::

Are you having any shortness of breath? Weak? Faint? Dizzy?

If so, you might have a hemothorax (blood in your chest) or a pneumothorax (air outside your lung causing lung collapse).

Either could be corrected by the insertion of a chest tube in the ER!!!, which is where you should have been before you wrote your first post on this topic.

Don't mess around with chest trauma. There's a reason God put our three most vital organs inside a protective cage.

Your cage is probably broken.

Listen to Charlie. He's a health care professional and knows what he's talking about. Get your stubborn old ass to a hospital.

And yes, I'm yelling at you. We don't need your wife coming on here telling us, "I'm sorry to have to inform you that Aimus passed away because he's an ornery old cuss"!

Aimus I'm gonna have to agree with Charlie and Jerry, It's time for you to get some proper medical attention.

You can settle up with the cat later.

Well I went and had a talk with an olé saw bones today. They did chest, spine, and leg X-rays. He said there was some bruised ribs and a nerve had gotten pinched by my spine in the fall. That is what's making the leg hurt. His RX was bed rest and a bunch of narcotic dope for the pain. I ain't gonna take that sh&%! I've seen to many druggies that walk around like zombies with drool running down their mouth. ::drool:: Besides, if I take it and it makes me loopy, my wife may take advantage of my body while I'm in that state. I'd feel so used and abused if she did that. ::mdm:: I still hurt but not like I did the first day or so after I fell. I've got to get to moving around because I've got family members that I have to take care of. I think when I get able to walk around good again, me and that cat are going to take a walk right by a neighbor's house that has a 100 lb mixed bread dog that hates cats. You know my hand could possibly let go of the leash on the cat because I may have hurt it too in that fall down the steps.. ::sneaky::

You guys think a wife would buy that story? Maybe if I look real sad when I tell it to her?

Aimus you did the right thing. I know it's not your purpose in life to please us but I, for one, feel relieved that you've had it seen to and there's no serious damage. Now about that cat. If I lived closer, I'd offer a drive-by but then that would be depriving you of the pleasure.

Take it easy and take care of yourself or you won't be able to take care of others.

Aimus, I'm glad you saw a doctor.

Take care of yourself.

If you don't want to take the narcotics and if you know that your kidney and liver functions are normal, you could take 800mg of ibuprofen every eight hours to take the edge off your discomfort.

I also recommend you forgive the cat. Your wife isn't stupid. She'll know who's responsible if anything happens to that cat in the next six months.

I've heard it said that revenge is a dish that is best served cold.

Aimus,

I agree with Charlie ::nod::

Remember, cats have 9 lives, we only have 1 ::paranoid::

Glad you got checked out, you're ok and haven't lost your sense of humor! ::nod:: Bruises can hurt worse than breaks but breaks can be deadly.

Thanks guys for caring. It really means a lot to me. I honestly wouldn't have went to see a Dr. if you guys and my wife hadn't kept telling me to go. I have to admit though, Charlie did put me to thinking, Ok so he scared me, that something could be bad wrong with my inners and I could be filling up with blood on the inside. You all are a great bunch of people here on AAPK that look out for each other and I'm privileged to have you as friends. Dimitri, I guess when all the pain stops & I simmer down a little I can think about forgiving that cat. Besides like you said, the wife will know for sure I'm to blame if something happens to that cat in the near future. Now I got to pray that nothing naturally causes that cat to pass away or I'll get the blame and be in the dog house for sure. I was going to say cat house but that would only make things worse and I would get this ::smack:: plus all my clothes would be thrown out in the yard. ::nod::
