Buck 184 Buckmaster

Here's something that was a new challenge for me. These knives have a hollow metal handle and about 1 1/2" of tang from the factory. I extended the threaded tang to run the length of the handle, mirror polished the blade, guard, and the hooks, installed a premium quality sambar stag handle with red/white and blue spacers, and a threaded on nickel silver buttcap. The pics are a bit bright, but there was a lot of surfaces for the light to reflect off of.

I assume it will not be used in combat and the grappling hook option won't be used with that handle, or did you keep the steel core inside the handle?

It's a collectors item Dale. Buck offered a similar version from the custom shop. I'd have to question anyone that would consider using one of these for a grappling hook anyway. ::skeptic::

That was what I was thinking, however years of managing a retail cutlery store makes me expect the unexpected. ::doh::
