June 4. My big date.

I quit smoking two years ago today. It's just such a great feeling to not be smoking.
I encourage every one who smokes and doesn't want to, to give it your best shot and end smoking.
I know it's not easy.

I wish I could get my brother-in-law, my uncle and my other sister's boyfriend to quit. When I'm around either for too long I feel like I'm smoking.

She had tried several times before and couldn't do it......the chantix really worked for Her.

I've been free from "the nicotine monster" for a little over eight years now. I decided to take the money I spent on cigarettes and spend it on my knife collection. Since cigarettes are about double what they were when I quit, should I buy more knives ?

My buddy told me yesterday that Illinois (The Great State of Chicago) is planning to add another dollar per pack to the cigarette tax. That's going to make it close to $200 a month for a pack a day smoker. Jeez. I guess that's a good excuse to increase my knife budget.

I have to admit, I still crave them now and then. It's not that debilitating craving I experienced during the first few weeks after I quit but it's still there.

Interesting stuff (at least to me):

As of January 1, 2012, the average state cigarette tax was $1.46 per pack, a hefty increase from the average of $1.18 just three years earlier and nearly ten times higher than it was a quarter century ago in 1983.[1] (These amounts are in addition to the federal $1.0066 per pack federal cigarette tax.) Congrats Joe, I quit 12 years ago and its real hard to do but the longer you go the easier it gets, even if it doesnt seem like it!
