All About Pocket Knives

Stopped at a yard sale down a dusty dirt road and found a small pot of gold at the end.

Top knife is a CRKT model 6422 etched,"Mo'Skeeter" and "NRA Sports". Probably an NRA promo thing.Price:$4.

Next is a Case XX USA 6318PU stockman with nice red bone scales but the back side of the tang is soft resulting in the blade standing proud.Don't see any evidence of dots so I'm assuming it's pre-1970,but the master blade is concave ground and I thought that happened later.
May return it to Case for repairs along with a 6488 I have with a broken back spring.Price: $10.

Third in line is the most unusual of the lot:an early(solid bolster)Imperial 5 blade Scout knife with wood scales;deeply sunk in shield and only 3 3/8ths inches long;smaller than the standard Scout.Pretty nice overall condition and only $7.50.

Last is a Gerber 425 EZ Out in new condition for $3.

If anyone has any info on the Imperial I would definitely appreciate it.I posted a pic of it in the Knife Lore section too.

Nice buy.I love that Imperial.All are grate knives.

Ray that Imperial Boy Scout knife was made from 1952-1962. A similar one with faux wood plastic handles was made from 1962-1963. ( The shield on the plastic one is different but the blade configuration is the same.)

I've seen knives like that one of yours sell on ebay from about $20 in marginal condition to well over $100 in excellent condition. I'd love to see a couple more pictures of yours with the blades open. If all the blades are intact and functional, you made a heck of a buy.......
but that's not unusual for you. If it's still got a clear etch on the main blade you ought to go give that seller some more money.

Phil: Didn't realize Imperial made solid bolster knives that late.The blade etch is long gone but the blades are pretty much intact.The master blade has a little up and down wobble when open(likely due to some tang wear)but other than that it is fine.
Here are some pics of the blades open.I may go back there as the guy still has a beautiful Robeson peachseed bone jumbo sleeveboard(forgot to get the # to check w/Charlie)that unfortunately has a broken pen blade but has coin edged liners.Wants $10 for it I think.He also said he has more knives but isn't ready to part with them yet.I left him my card.He only lives a couple miles from me so checking it out won't be a problem.
I just liked this little Imp because of the size;never saw a 5 blade that small.

It is a nice, pocket friendly size with lots of useful tools included. Thanks for the additional pics.
