knife shields

Just wondering if there was a source that sells replacement shields for knives? I don't care if they have a dog, goat, or a tree on them. A knife w/o a shield is like a car w/o hubcaps - it just doesn't look right. At Jantz they have both 1/4 & 3/8 mosaic pins that could be cut down for shields and that is as close to anything I see. Where else can I look? I contacted Boker and they say it is a no go from them on older shields. From what I pick up fom them unless they can see the knife and it is newer they don't have the shields for them. Thanks

I salvage most of mine from parts knives. usaknifemakerssupply.com sells some shields of various designs. You can always cut your own out with a jewelers saw too

I've sent you all the Boker shields I had (all two of them), but since my vision won't allow me to inlay shields anymore, let me know what else you're looking for. I just might have it.

The ends of spent bullet casings make neat shields. They come in lots of sizes, brass and silver, and only require a round hole for letting them in. A Dremmel and cut-off wheel are the best way i've found for cutting them loose. Do make sure the primer has been fired!
