All About Pocket Knives

Hey I found this forum trying to find some info on a knife I have came across. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out!

Welcome to AAPK. You have an early Fight'n Rooster, made in Solingen Germany for, and imported by, Frank Buster Cutlery Co., Lebanon, TN sometime between 1976 and 1981. These are considered very good knives with very good German steel; they were made in many variations in small quantities of each variation.

So each variation wasn't mass produced? Would you happen to have any idea on the numbers of the Black Widow that were produced and if it's a desirable piece?

Stew, I don't know about the Black Widow; but most of their knives have been made in small batches (batches as small as 100, as big as 600, and most at about 200 per the book I have). I understand that the Frank Buster Cutlery Company keeps very good records - you could try contacting them directly and asking them - they may surprise you and have the answer. Good luck in your quest for more information. All Fight'n Roosters are desirable pieces - so you are good on that part of your quest. The handles on your knife are celluloid, you need to store it in the open and not in direct sunlight, IF the celluloid begins to deteriorate you will have rust and other issues. OH

Ps. Dale (ORVET) an administrator here at AAPK and one of the premier knife mechanics in the country, just today gave me this link to an article to read concerning a Camillus knife I recently bought that also has celluloid handles.
