Remington blade modification

Some time ago I bought a broken tip Remington R603 as project knife, I used only files and papers to mod it from original clip point blade to wharncliffe shape. I think it turns out OK, the hardest part was to modify the swedge.

Nice job Mike. Personally I'd classify it more of a spear blade now than a Wharncliffe, but a pretty decent spear blade. Good decision on using a file instead of a grinder too. It's so easy to get carried away with a grinder and get things over-heated which can affect the temper of the blade real easily. Hope you don't mind my calling it a spear, but a nice job and there's nothing wrong with a good spear blade IMO.

Thanks Bob, I guess spear point is a better call :)
You were right also about my main thought which was not to over heat the blade while doing the modification.
This is my first attempt doing such a thing, and I intend to continue as much as time permits.

You turned it into a useable EDC. Good job.
