Her is what has been keeping me company lately. :)
I know some of you wanted to see this so I started and, then remembered to take some before photos. ::dang::
This is a BIG JOB and I used my pressure washer on the 3 too.
It is clogged up in the nasal now. Some hay, sand or grit and glue perhaps. These must have been stored in a barn like the seller said.
I have NEVER seen any dirtier girls. ::doh::
I am not sure how to remove the glue off the paper poster backing.
The wire system to hold the knives in place sucks too. I think too much of these OLD LADIES to do that to them again.
My hair will be all gray before this is done, that is if I have any hair then.
::blah:: ::blah:: Just for you at AAPK.

Nice cleanup job, Labor of love..
Wish I could tell you what will work on the paper but every thing that I know of will also change the color of the paper.

Nice job Ken ::tu:: using a power washer is something I would not have thought would work that well. Was this the display you won on ebay?

Yes Grizzly_Dog it is that one. You only see about 1/2 of it on the top photo. I went to Columbus, Ohio to get it too.

Labor of love is the right way to say this job. ::tired::
I kept the knife and prob under the WD-40 and that way it was not so much of a mess. I have not yet tryed to clean out the prob. The punp is cleaned out and still works. So the WD-40 did not make the sells swell yet.

Very pleased with the Pressure Washer idea so far. I just now am thinking of a cloth at the bottom to sive out the gunk. So not to let sandy dirt in the pump and prob. Do not think it takes off all crud but is does clean where you cant get. ::nod::

Your pressure washer ideal looks to be a good one Justold52. 8)
What did you use other that WD-40?

There is this stuff called "Goo Be Gone" it is citrus/orange based. It will remove glue and sticky substances from some papers. Try a test on a mag or shipping label first, it may stain the paper.
Acetone or PGA will also remove sticky stuff and is easy to find. I have found it does not stain. Just be careful around sparks or flame.

Be sure and test it on an unseen area first.

I like that display also ::tu::
