all i can say by looking at the diagrams on the box is
i use my hatchets almost as much as i use my pocketknife. with the sweat and grime and sometimes chainsaw gas on your hands and the extreme relentless pounding, the handles on cheaply made hatchets can come loose and slippery. i use only fiskars now. that one looks quite dangerous with that one pin swivel handle and the blade right there inside it. then when you want to use the knife, your holding the axe blade in your hand inside that same handle. i wouldn't attempt to use that axe for any hardened time consuming work. my suggestion is for very minimal light duty work.
but on the flip side, as a dangerous self inflicting hazard, and a show and tell collectable, you might have something there.

chet u must be basing your opinion on a cheap asian piece of crap you've had, even though i have not used one,it appears very stout and well made, your not going to split fire wood with it but thats not its purpose,i have it listed on another site and was told these are very popular with members of the military he was an air force jtac member and seen and used this model and its bigger brother for many uses and if i list on ekay will most certainly end up being purchased for that purpose

sorry, i don't use those things and i wouldn't recommend anyone else to use them. i am basing my opinions only by the pics on the box. i have never seen this combo before or heard anyone talk of it before. kinda reminds me of the folding hunters that i have seen where you place your index finger in the hole next to the tang of the blade. if that lockback failed while in use, the blade could very easily cut deep into your index finger if not actually cutting it off. it just doesn't "look" safe.
just my opinion. and usually that and $1.50 can buy you a cup of coffee. i am sorry if i ticked you off in any way, that was not my intention,
maybe some of our fellow and esteemed military veterans can attest to its safe and durable qualities.
