It's a neat Hotel and a grand piece of history. For anyone who doesn't live there, that's some spectacular scenery.
Are they going to charge to go in and wander around? The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island Michigan does.

I think it's pretty wide open. I just went in and nobody questioned me. People come and go as they please. I'm sure you can't just go wanderng around though...

Like most states, NH has its' special areas. The White Mountain National Forest, and the whole northern area of the state are true treasures. I think alot of NH residents tend to take it for granted sometimes...

Very nice photos, thanks for posting them. I'd like to visit that hotel some day. It looks like they have another lodge on the same property, the Omni Bretton Arms Inn.
"As grand as the history behind it, the Omni Mount Washington Hotel, located in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, is gracious in ambiance and generous in amenities. A favorite New England retreat of presidents, poets and celebrities, the hotel delights every sense with enchanting music, refined dining and luxurious décor.
A grand masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture, the Omni Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire's White Mountains was a two-year labor of love for 250 master craftsmen. Conceived by industrialist Joseph Stickney, this National Historic Landmark opened in 1902 and has been attracting generations of families ever since.
The final phase of a $60 million expansion and renovation has just been completed, including guest rooms, public areas and dining facilities, complementing the recent additions of a signature spa, thrilling year-round canopy tour and renovation to the classic Donald Ross designed Mount Washington golf course.
The Omni Mount Washington Hotel is located in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, only 2 1/2 hours from Boston."

Thanks for posting that extra stuff.
I also got to walk through that Inn, Mike. Very quaint, kind of like a bed and breakfast. The group that owns the hotel has several different buildings as part of the property. A ski area, restaurants, golf courses, etc.

Beautiful pics and info Glenn
My parents, who are retired and traveling in their RV, just happen to be in that area right now. They are headed to Bar Harbour next and then on up into canada (depending on the weather) with stops all along the way there and back to Ga. Maybe one day the wife and I will be able to do the same.
