Dinner time in the Fall!

We have a great first cup diner at the forum, but there is more to eating than simply coffee and biscuits! My wife just made up the first venison chili of the season before she went to work this morning - now the entire house smells wonderful - waiting for dinnertime over here boss! I took this picture right after cutting the onions up and putting them in about 11:00.

That is a pretty picture.
Now, I'm just waiting for the first cold snap to hit The Sunny South.
Chili is my favorite dish.

Just finished my first pot of the season. That's one of the nice things about being single. You don't have to share.

Just had another bowl for dinner tonight - love a big crockpot - we get three meals for the three of us out of one making. Chili is one of those meals that gets better the second and third time you serve it.

Still warm and muggy, got one of those tropical air masses out of Florida this weekend. BUT, by Monday we will be enjoying lows in the mid-40's and highs in the mid-60's - think I might grab my smokepole and head for the woods!

That stew looks great!
I love venison, but can't get out and hump the hills like I used to.
It is getting hard to find a place to hunt here in the Willamette Valley unless you know a farmer who will let you hunt there.
Enjoy a bowl for me too!

Praying for some good stew/chili weather here in N. Virginia.
