They are 95% still green here in the coastal plain of NC, but just starting to turn further west up near Raleigh.

Chet, The trees were unusually late changing colors this year. Also, not as colorful as usual. They say it's due to the dry summer.

Beautiful. Living in a desert like I do you don't see that very often. The changing of the seasons is one of the things I miss about living in Virginia. Thanks for posting those pics. ::tu::

Here's a few shots from a week or so ago...woods here in southern Wisconsin are just past prime right now, but still quite colorful! It soothes the soul to be amongst the colors in the woods this time of year...ya just gotta breathe it in...

I just spent the better part of today mulching,raking,and bagging that "beautiful scenery" lol.Cleaning out gutters;raking around the house and roof(ours is very flat) and washing the dog poop off my hands.Twenty three bags down and I have at least a half dozen maples that are still green and likely will not lose their leaves until after the first snow. I think we should declare war on Canada and drag all their maple leaves across the border and dump 'em(just kidding). The wind is also kind in that it deposits leaves from my neighbor's trees as well into my yard.I may have to shoot his Obama for President sign full of holes tonight as well.
Seriously though there is nothing like the foliage in the fall;especially in New England.It is nice out here in Michigan but nothing like a ride through New Hampshire or Vermont or western Massachusetts.And yes upstate New York is beautiful as well.

I bought a leaf blower a few years ago, it is worth its weight in gold.
I can't rake leaves it kills my back, so we just blow them way in to the back of the property.
From there mother nature takes over. The giant pile is flat by spring.
Over the years it makes good topsoil too.

Big storm expected here in a few days, going to be a lot of trees down and power outages.
Plenty of flooded basements too I'm sure. I pray everyone stays safe.

Awesome pics guys ::tu::

The leaves have already changed here in N. Ga. for the most part and are starting to hit the ground. The colors were no where near as bright and vivid as usual this year. I guess it's due to the extra hot and dry summer we had.

It was 80 here thurs. and will only be in the 50's tomorrow and 40's by Tues but it will probably hit 80 again before christmas. Our consistantly cold weather usually isn't until Jan. or Feb. I would definately trade some more cold for the hottttttt we had over this past summer ::mdm:: We need a coooold winter to keep down the mosquito pop. and the west nile problem that we have had recently :x

Is that Chimney Rock, DRS?

I truly appreciate all these great Fall photos. Best, most beautiful time of the year. Not so much here. I've said it before: California is a great place to live if you are an orange.
