All About Pocket Knives

I have owned and shot many .22 pistols and find them to be the most enjoyable of all my hand guns.
Cheap to shoot, accurate and just fun.
I have two Smith & Wessen's model 41 and Stainless steel 22 Target. Sigsaur .22 1911 model, Kimber .22 Target. I find that I shoot best with my Kimber even though its the lightest.
I prefer semi autos rather than revolvers which I have owned.
Just love to shoot!

What do you shoot and prefer?

I think every American should own a Ruger Single-Six at some point in thier life.

For faster more fun shooting I am really liking my wife's Walther P-22. Very accurate and flawless so far.

I had a Walther and a tricked out Ruger Stainless steel slab side I speed shot with, very sweet guns.

I have a Ruger Single-Six three screw. I've had it for coming up on 50 years. Original owner. It's as accurate as you are.

A sweet shooting Ruger.

I have owned several 22mags, many I wish I'd never sold! Currently only have one, a Heritage six shooter, it's a lot of fun to shoot!

Had a beautiful Ruger Single Six that had ivory grips and some nice scroll work but the guy I got it from wanted it back and made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Only two I have today are a Baby Hammerless nickel plated with folding trigger and a 1910 patent date on it and a Harrington & Richardson Model 922 that my aunt(who died just before her 99th birthday)gave to me when she was moving to Florida.Her husband bought it in 1935(he died in 1960)and it has never been fired.Not a particularly expensive gun but priceless to me.
Had a Ruger MkII with a bull barrel but it had some ammunition issues(didn't like Federal rounds;they used to multiple feed)and I finally traded it off.

I have a Harrington & Richardson model 929 that I recently cleaned up enuff to shoot. My dad had it for more years than I've been around. I took it and told him he couldn't have it back because he wasn't taking care of it. (soon as he heard me and my brother talking about what a good shooter it was he wanted it back, of course )
bought a 550 count box of .22L and had a great morning with the brothers a couple weeks ago. There was an old timer at the range who gave us all some great shooting tips and we found out that little H&R is just as accurate as any new ruger.

1981 Ruger MK-1 The next to the last year for this model. MK-II came out in 1983.
Cheap, USA made NEF (New England Firearms) .22 cal. nine shot revolver.
This little fella didn't get discovered until about a year after the second flood.
By that time, the cylinder was rusted shut and you can see how much the
rust has eaten away from the frame on one side. A lot of cleaning and lubricant
later and it shoots just as good as it did when it was new. Badly.

Here she is! I know she looks rough, but daygoneit I put over 300 rounds of the cheapest bullets I could get thru her with not but a couple misfires. Shoots straight.
Just fur fun we ran balloons down the 100yd range. I popped that sunofergun in one load!! I ain't kiddin! My little brother popped it on the 3rd shot!!! I still think I shoot better. (no way he coulda done it again)
Least ways, you can bet yer ash I wouldn't be waisting .45L on that kinda shooting.

My last living uncle has/had one of those (He's 91 so my cousin may have it by now). They're good shooters.

Camillus, I also have 2 S&W model 41's. One 5 1/2" with an Ultra Dot, and an earlier 7 3/8" with the cocking indicator and detachable brake. They are pretty hard to beat. I also have a High Standard Citation, and a couple contender barrels.

I've got a Ruger Mark II from the mid 90's that is an excellent target pistol but for CC I prefer my H&R .32 Smith & Wesson Long. I've been looking for a nice Top Break.

Two of the best .22's for plinking and fun shooting, the Ruger semi-auto and single-six, both classic's...IMO.

If accuracy is your game the Smith & Wesson Model 41 will put allot of rifle's to shame.

Sounds like a keeper, Gino ... my father-in-law has an old JC Higgins 16ga break barrel he bought at Sears & Roebuck. I do not know what the values are on those JC Higgins guns, but I think they produced them for Sears from the early forties to the early sixties? I'd hang on to it, Gino.

High Standard produced guns for JC Higgings.

I thought of putting a scope on my Smith 41 but I can get tight groups up to 10 yards with my eyes yet.

Here's my two .22s......a Browning Challenger II from 1977, and a High Standard Sport King from 1951-52.

The Browning has an eject problem...and there don't seem to be any parts to be had....I might try some different ammo and see if that helps. The High Standard is a beater, but a sweet shooter. It's got those goofy right-hander grips on it though. Guess they thought left-handers didn't shoot back in the 1950s.

I have others including a big brother to this (Single Six), but prefer this for general wood bumming and plinking. I only wish Ruger would offer them with adjustable sights.
