All About Pocket Knives

Here's a few more WIP pics. This is how the knife looked when I started it.



The previous owner must have hated this knife, cause it looks like he took a grinder to the blades. I chose some jigged aberdeen amber for the new covers.






The pics do not catch the color well. I cleaned the blades as well as I could, but I did not want to remove too much more metal.

That's making a silk purse out of a sow's ear for sure. A really great save and I like it a lot. What is the stamp on the frame? Is this your ID or is it from the factory?

That is my lame attempt at ID'ing the knife as being reworked. Not that my work would be mistaken for factory, but it is the responsible thing to do. Those are my initials,along with the year. I don't have a fancy stamp like Dale, so I have to freehand it with individual stamps..

That is high praise, thank you, but I am sure you are just joking. Besides, once it becomes "work", then it will probably not be that much fun anymore...

No I'm serious, we're looking for some cutlering help, I've been doing near a hundred knives a day, fifty if I've gotta assemble and cutler, and my arm's about to fall off!

I recently received a knife Glenn restored as a gift, to be auctioned off to help to pay my grandaughter`s medical bills, and can attest to how good his work is.

Good to have you aboard, John. Folks, John makes some great knives, alot nicer than mine. He does primarily fixed blades, but has done some folders as well. I own several examples of his work.
