Ran across this one on flea-bay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Schrade-LB1-unf ... 19d6f10858

The tang stamp on the top one is 511 SC?? Never seen a Cub with white scales. And why put the bail on before the bolsters?

Not saying they are right or wrong, just lookin' to learn something ::nod::

edit.......On second thought, I have seen a couple of 'scrimshaw'.

The 511sc is for scrimshaw. These knives would have been put together for the auction sale when Schrade closed. They just used what materials they had left to assemble knives.

Here is the picture from the auction.

Notice how the pins stick up through the bolsters, the handles and bolsters are different heights and the edges are sharp and unfinished?
This is a knife that has not been finished yet. Probably a work in process when the plant closed or one that someone assembled out of parts but didn't finish it off.

Here are a couple I have with a finished LB-1 in the middle for comparison.

The difference is pretty obvious when they are side by side.
