Just wanted to post my first. Recently retired I have begun collecting Case folding knives. A couple of reasons for Case is "Made in USA!" and Case is in Bradford, PA which is just a few hours from home. Like to make the trip a couple of times each year to pick up a few new items.
Heading down south on Saturday and will be visiting the Smokey Mountain Knife Works. Does anyone have any advice for me about this place?? I don't tend to spend big bucks on my knives, another reason to like Case. I feel that they are priced well for the quality.

to AAPK Bliz!
I have dealt with SMKW a few times online, never been to the store itself.
Always had a good experience.
I know there are some others who will be along shortly that can tell you tons about the place ...
Welcome again, to the best knife community in the virtual world ... great helpful folks that are more than happy to share their considerable knowledge. It is truly a great place.

welcome aboard fellow pa.'er
smkw is a very big place, but don't be taken in my its emmensity. it deals in a lot of china knives and their prices are a little higher than you can get elsewhere... you have to look very hard for the deals.
but,,,,, although it is always nice to buy something from a place you don't intend on visiting too frequent,,have fun and be thrifty and careful. remember they are a business first.

A hearty welcome to you Bilz. I make it down to SMKW once a year. Be sure to go upstairs and visit the NKCA Museum. If you like knives, you could spend a full day looking around that place.

Thanks to all for the welcome! It may be a little scary, and intimidating by the sound of it, to visit the SMKW. I hope I can save enough spending money to buy gas to get back home

Welcome to AAPK.
If you go to SMKW a little early you could also take in the Parker Show in Sevierville, just down the road from SMKW. It's a great knife show. There's a thread about it right now on the forums.
