How can I tell if this 5 blade sowbelly Remington is an original, rework or a reproduction.
There are no pattern numbers and the large blade has a different tang than the other blades, it has made in USA around the circle. It looks like the blades have never been sharpened.
I have been told that this is a very rare and valuable one, but cannot find anything like it online. Just trying to find out if this may be worth buying.

The style of jigging on the bone is nothing like what Remington ever used.

Knife is fake and not a good one. It's not uncommon to find different stamps on different blades on Remingtons, however, as noted, the jigging on the bone is not Remington, the shield is not a style I've seen on a large Remington, the nail nicks look to be very crude, there aren't any nice swedges on the blades like you would expect to see on an old knife, the blades are probably stainless steel, and most Remington's have a pattern number stamped, other than that the knife looks original.
