The knives for this auction are all Westerns. They are the backups for my personal hunting knives, the knives I'd give a friend who needed a knife. There's not a trace of mint-like goodness to these knives, they are just classic American-made working knives with a lot of working life left in them. Expect them to show signs of use, and need a bit of cleaning, as well as sharpening.
This knife is Western's trapper, their pattern 691. Tang stamp is
WESTERN
U.S.A.
The back is marked
691
This example dates from 1961-1977. Overall length is about 7 3/8", with a roughly 3 3/16" clip blade. Unlike the folding hunter, it doesn't have the nifty matchstriker pulls, but it does have very nice half-stops. Both blades have good snap. The covers are delrin. The knife shows signs of past use, sharpening, and possibly cleaning at some point.
Feel free to PM or email me with any questions. Thanks!
