Not a Cub Scout knife anymore

I got this cub knife in a group and as you can see it has a pretty good blade. I had the idea to take it apart and try to make an EO out of it.
I always show off my knives I modify to my daughter. As she is in band and loves music she made the comment about a note shield. I thought to myself hmmmmmmmmmm.
Here what I started with.

I tore it apart and built new liners that are wider at the back for EO. Then I got an idea. Sorry for showing an unfinished knife but I am so damn happy now with how it is turning out. I guess I will give this to her. Not sure if I am going through with EO though as still have lots of hand sanding to do. Shield is hand cut out of a nickel and wood is supposed to be ebony but think I got jipped as I think it is African Blackwood.

Neat stuff and a good job of it. I like the note shield, it's very different.

Some day when you're daisy fertilizer, your daughter can get that misty look in her eye and say, "my dad made this for me". So cool.

The next time you do one of these, don't deep six the cap lifter. ::nod:: (personal preference  )

Yeah Jerry I would have liked to keep it but cap lifter is crooked to allow the punch to sit in and it is on a double ended spring. I didn't have any other spring material the correct thickness to make a new one.
