This will break your heart....then it will make you angry, very angry.
Incompetent Military Bureaucrats, government red tape and Congressional stupidity kept the truth from this woman regarding the fate of her husband for sixty years, while thousands walked right by him every year and others, thrice yearly, honored his memory and sacrifice.
What a woman.

"This will break your heart...." How true, how sad, but at the very least now she knows.

There's a saying, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." I don't believe that.
I think it should be, "Those who can. do. Those who can't, get a job with the government." What is it about working for the government that sucks all the initiative out of people? Or is it they had none to start with, so gravitated to a job requiring the least amount of effort?

I admire the woman for sticking to her wedding vows with a man to whom she had only been married for six weeks before he went to Europe.
But, do you think that she might have remarried, had children and lived a much happier and rewarding life had she been given the available accurate information from the beginning?
And, I guarantee that her request for information never reached the personal attention of the Texas Congressman. It was handled by some low level staffer. He probably never saw nor signed the letter she received.
I don't understand why it took sixty years for somebody, ANYBODY, to request his military records. Those were available to her all this time.
