OK, I saw that pic of the prez shooting this week. Looks like an O&U break open gun.......
So I have a stupid question - what's the 2nd puff of smoke shooting out from the side / perpindicular to the barrel of his gun?
I have several semi-auto and pump shot guns. I don't own - but have shot several O&Us - and I wasn't aware of any gas valves /compensators on the side of the barrels of O&Us?....or have I just not been paying attention.

That's my question too Unk. I've shot a lot of shotguns and seen a lot of shotguns shot, but never saw so much smoke from modern guns, especially out the side?? But Hey!!
It's his photo-shop and he can have anything in the pic he wants!!

Modern trend in high end skeet and clays shotguns is to port the barrels (bleeds off some gas) to reduce muzzle rise and minimize felt recoil. Reducing muzzle rise assists in staying on target for the second shot in doubles. OH

Thanks OH. I didn't know that. I figured it was some kind of gas port or compensator, thanks for confirming.

Actually, it's the puff of smoke from a second shooter's gun in the trees that really shoots the clays for him.
Also, blow the pic up a bit and count the knuckles on the left hand.
