Question and an offer

My two most recent fleabay pick-ups... Schrade Walden 204S electrician and a John Deere 18OT. Let me apologize in advance for the lousy pictures, as it is still raining here.

First the 204. Someone ground off the bail, gouging the delrin, worse on one side than the other. Solid half-stops and both blades snap hard. The main does not appear to have been sharpened, or at least very little. I plan on putting it to work ::nod:: My question is how the main blade is ground. It seems to have more grind on the pile side than the mark side. Different angle front to back. Was this a chisel grind?

Second up is the little 18OT. 'John Deere' stamped and painted on one side scale. 'Genuine Parts and Service etched on the mark side of the blade. Etch was a surprise, as it did not show in the seller's pics. Couldn't give a hoot about JD. Bought with the intention of EDC rotation. But, when I saw the blade etch I had second thoughts. Maybe someone here at AAPK would be interested in a trade. ::shrug:: If so, shoot me a PM, I'll give a better description/pictures.

I collect Old Timer knives, and that is a very interesting example of their use as advertising / promotional items. Hard to see exactly from your pictures, but the knife appears to have been used and sharpened. If so, it's probably most valuable as a user in your pocket. ::tu::
