All About Pocket Knives

Hello, I have a set of crock sticks. White and grey sticks. How do you use them? Long sweeps the length of the rods or draw the blade thru the V?

I would suspect that the gray one is more coarse than the white one. Since I always used to (and sometimes still do) finish off a sharpening with a butcher's steel, I buy my ceramic sticks a bit longer than the ones in the video and with handles. I use them like a butcher's steel. Since they're only about $2.00 each, I let one load up and turn gray from the metal it collects and keep the other one clean by washing it with Comet or Ajax once in a while. The gray one becomes quite smooth. This can let you refine the edge to razor sharpness after some practice. That''s how I use them and plan to keep doing so. Hope this helps some.
