All About Pocket Knives

another garage fix/MOD err ever utcha call it??????????

got this kershaw skyline from CK here at AAPK..........

had a plastic back bone/ spacer..........

made my own out of aluminum scrap i had i garage........

1- orig LOOK
2- plastic spacer out
3-found scrap same thickness,marked out,and holes drilled
4-clamped and roughed out shape with saw/files/dremel
5-almost there....on and off knife like 20 times BUT CLOSE!

6- a lot of filing and sanding till just a touch HIGH.....
7-ONCE I FELT GOOD ABOUT shape and fit......WET SAND
8-finished up (CERTAIN ANGLES LOOK LIKE A GAP,BUT PRETTY TIGHT)
9-done.....i weighed and same weight as plastic.....and a little longer to help keep junk/lint/coins OUT


ALL IN ALL........... i like the look better
way easier than the last SPEEDSAFE ASSISTED OPENER i did.......
and way less time.....about 2 hours??? total

and it passed the :"TIFFY TEST".............tiff runs her fingers over every knife i show her...if she feels SHARP EDGES.......she say EWWWW I DONT LIKE THAT RIGHT THERE....

when i passed her this , and said LOOK what i did babe.. ...she felt and said.... NICE AN SMOOTH!
