All About Pocket Knives

Here is my first attempt at restoration. It is an unknown brand of pen knife that had some dodgy cell handles. Didn't want to experiment on anything of value. After taking it apart, I cleaned everything, took some nicks and corrosion off the blades and put on new wood scales. I managed without using any power tools. Some of the pins are not quite round but overall it turned-out OK. I had a great time and looking forward to my next project. A fixed blade... perhaps. Any critical feedback greatly appreciated. s-k

Just be careful this hobby grows and grows.

I have only one bad thing to say.
Next time take a photo of it before you turn her in to a lady again.
Its so nice to see before & after photos.
I really like that grain line you placed it so well too.
I see it was made in USA and you have to be very proud of her.
Some day you will need a pick up, so just pick her up and she will make you feel good.

Now you have the bug!

Soon all you will buy are old knives that need to be restored. You will pass by all the nice shiny new knives and buy the old, rusty ones, because you can see what they would look like when repaired.

It is an addiction far worse than knife collecting, worse than heron! You have just made a quantum leap forward in your knife addiction. Enjoy it!

Nicely done Steve. I may have to start sending mine to Jolly Old England for repairs. You did a great job. Can't imagine what you can be doing in a year or so. You may be giving some of the repair "Wizards" on this site a run for their money and there are some VERY good ones.
