All About Pocket Knives

Another ( probably expensive ) hobby I'd like to try.

Anyone do it, and have stories of your finds?

I did with my Tesoro but since moving to Texas not so much. You can hunt on public lands here but no digging which seems pointless. Its fun and good exercise plus another reason to hit the beach.

My wife had been wanting a MD for years, but there were just too
many knives out there to be spending money on that sort of foolishness.
Well anyway, she is a proud owner of a Garrett AT Pro, and couldn't be
happier. As far as which one is the best, I suspect you would get the
same diverse answer as you would, in asking which car is the best.
We did do a little research from various web sites, and decided on
the Garrett. That's not saying that the White or Bounty hunter or any
other maker, is not just as good. All of them do the same thng, which is,
to find you vast amounts of treasure, providing prosperity beyond
your wildess dreams!

That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I remember that my Uncle found enough change on the So Cal beaches to buy himself a better MD.

You find lots of pop can tabs and old beer can pull rings as well as bottle tops. Look for old towns and water powered mills that have disappeared if you want a good chance of finding something.

Ordered a Tesoro yesterday from Kellyco--I'll be treasure hunting next week--haha---figure it'll give me something to do this summer when I wanta go for a ride.

Rick I plan on posting how I do just hope to find something besides beer caps & rusty nails--there's quite of few spots right here in the neighborhood I can get started at--this old house we live in will have something to dig I'm sure my wife can't wait she was raised here and so was her mother you just never know what grandma lost in the back yard.

My Uncle used to find lots of coins in old schoolyards back in the Midwest. Good luck.

My first spot other than the backyard is a school yard that my mother in-law graduated from in 52 I can see it from my driveway I plan on sweeping the area where the ball fields used to be--i'da liked to have went around the school before it was tore down--that area is gotta be full of trash from the demo

I've been detecting for the past 20 years and still enjoy the hunt.
My favorite place to go is our beaches here and camp grounds, I've found some great items old and new. I've owned several MD's and currently own two Garrett's.
I sold MineLab Detectors years ago and White.
