All About Pocket Knives

This is the only Schrade Badger I have ever see, with the 100th Anniversary blade etch. It was made in China for Schrade before they closed down.
I have two more Badger knives with serrated blades; in the same Anniversary tins and without the 100th Anniversary blade etch.

I think I got most of mine in clampaks without the blade etch- the Schrade # for that knife in the clam pack is SX4CP.
However, I think I did get some of the SX4 in boxes, but I will have to look for them later, they aren't in my display.

The only badgers I see in the 2004 catalog is the ASX4CPT.
That is the- AnniversarySX4 ClamPakTin

I don't see any of the fine edge (plain) blade SX4's listed in the 2004 catalog, just the partially serrated in the tins & clam paks.
Perhaps the plain blades were etched and put in the tins after the factory sale.
A lot of that sort of production after the fact is still going on 9 years after Schrade closed!

What was happening in 2003 and 2004 at the Schrade factory, points to total confusion.
It looks like that Anniversary blade etch was used on a number of knives at that time.
I have the Badger, two 8OTs, eight 34OT and an ACB80 all with the same blade etch.

I have also found your Schrade listings do not mention the SLW2 with the plane blade;
they were listed in the 2003 Schrade Product Guide, on page 12
I have been told the SLW2 knives were being sold in 2004-2005, at a discount price of under $40 each.
They are hard to find today.

Some of the first run of 500 Schrade D’holder knives, and the first run of 500 Schrade Lake and Walker SLW1 knives, were sold as a SLWD1 display set. The first 500 of each knife had a blade etch, all 1000 knives were also numbered.

Yours is still the only Anniversary Badger pic to be found on the internet. Now there will be two - I found one in the clam pack.

That is good news, Schrade was starting to have their knives made in China.
I found one of Taylor's Badgers on eBay, made in China - I dismantled it looking at the difference in built quality.
The U.S. Schrade company knives, made in China and Ireland were much better made knives.
