Not an efficient utilization of the available assets, I'm thinking.

Did you know it's against regs for a Marine to carry an umbrella while in uniform?
"According to Marine Corps regulation MCO P1020.34F of the Marine Corps Uniform Regulations chapter 3, a male Marine is not allowed to carry an umbrella while in uniform. There is no provision in the Marine Corps uniform regulation guidelines that allows a male Marine to carry an umbrella."

I believe it's either against regulations or at least very strong tradition for any male service member in uniform to carry or possess an umbrella.
A female service member in uniform can carry, in the left hand only, a standard black or collapsible umbrella, leaving the hand available for the hand salute.

Possibly. I have no knowledge of regulations for the other services.

I think it is a total disgrace to see one of our countries finest Marines holding an umbrella over Superfly. I would love to see him stick that umberlla where the sun don't shine!
