Wife is out with the gals last night......

So my kid and I head back home after getting some cheap chinese food and talking about why he lied to me about shooting the BB gun into my Jeep Wrangler....sigh ($230 to fix the drivers side window in the hard top btw)
He heads to bed, I grab a beer and while scrolling thru the channels on my dish, come across one of those QVC style channels called Cutlery Corner. I found myself watching it for almost two hours straight. I had the urge to pull my credit card out several times when they had some Case knives for sale.....I never pulled the trigger.
Is this indicative of a larger problem?

Yes, I have done the same thing. I even called planning to buy one a few years back but when they gave me the total including shipping (which was ridiculous) I opted out and hung up.
I will still pause for a while every now and then to see what their pushing but the majority of the stuff is junk IMO and I don't wait around to see the decent stuff.
As far as the BB gun issue. I remember having to rebuild the neighbors small metal out building and cut his huge lawn with a push mower for the entire summer, when I was about 10. My daisy had turned it into swiss cheese after using it as the back drop for target practice.

Not available on my level of cable or I'm sure I would be checking in now and then.
I hope the boy learned a lesson over that little incident. Personally, because of my checkered past, I couldn't be too hard on him.

My brother managed to put holes in things with his BB gun but for some reason we were both always blamed and I had to pay half. :
I won't mention my own incident with a slingshot.
I always trawl e-bay and antiques sites when the wife is out.

I watched cutlery corner for about two hours once. They mostly had junk(IMO) but I kept watching, and watching to see what they would bring out next. I don't think I would by anything but it was actually still better than most of the crap on tv anyway.

I shot a BB thru my neighbors newspaper and he really got mad about it, maybe it was because he was reading it at the time.

When I was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, there was an incident involving me, a slingshot (not what we called 'em when I was a kid) and the windows in Charlie Battery's barracks. Fortunately for me, 1st Sgt. Linehan was an old Marine that realized I was just a dumb-a** kid and wasn't being a vandal. Top came up under and apparently believed in Rocks and Shoals as the best way to pluck a young Marine's head from his anal orifice so instead of applying the UCMJ to my transgressions, he got creative. That was the point in my life when I learned to replace and glaze window panes. Lesson learned and I still receivd my Good Conduct Medal a few months later.
It took me years to realize what a s--- storm the 1st Sgt. had saved me from. RIP Top. You were a hell of a Marine. No wonder they named a Marine Corps League Detachment after you.

Reminds me of the time I got in trouble with an airsoft pistol. We used to have the picnic table located alongside a garage apartment that, pretty much, in the more than 50 years my folks have owned the place, was just storage. Since the 1990s, it was clad in vinyl siding. Well, I used to set pop cans up and shoot them. My Red Ryder and all my airsoft pistols up until this one were not powerful enough to punch a hole in the siding. I figured that if they couldn't penetrate a two-liter pop bottle, they couldn't penetrate vinyl siding. At that time, I had recently picked a Sig Sauer air pistol (this was a cheap spring-action one before SIG started making powerful CO2-powered airguns of their own) which was as powerful as my Red Ryder, if not more, and especially due to the large plastic BB. The round went through the can AND the siding, leaving a nice round hole. I tried to repair the damage with some "glow in the dark" duct tape that was white most of the time. It was behind a bush, so well, the "glow in the dark" part wasn't noticeable. When the tape finally fell off a few months later, I got my butt chewed. I learned an important lesson--A: have a backstop. B: don't' shoot anywhere near where you could cause property damage.

I remember giving my son a brand new BB gun and approximately 35 minutes later he blew out the window in his bedroom.
His bedroom in his grandmothers house ...... my Mother-in-laws house ..... my Mother-in-laws very expensive Anderson
casement window situation .. problem ................... did I mention it was expensive ..........
My sons relationship with the BB gun ended as abruptly as it began.

From the picture I cant tell much about it nor who made it. Knowing the source my suspicion is itβs a $10 Chicom knife.

This post brings to mind something I have wondered about, or pondered, every time I see it. That is offering shipping, or free shipping, to the lower 48 states. Why is that? I believe it costs no more to send a package to Hawaii or Alaska than it does to Kentucky. I just went to the USPS site and confirmed that a 1 lb package by 1st class mail is the same to both places. I like for things to be logical and to me, this just ain't logical!
Any ideas.

Rubs me the wrong way every time I see that. I got fed up & 'splained it to a seller recently. Even 'splained to him that the postage is the same to some American territories, such as Puerto Rico. He never responded. Ignorant jerk.

I wondered about this too. Here is one Ebay sellers explanation, although it may not pertain to shipping one small item like a pocket knife.
