Please pray for Lisa

I just got a call from Lisa Samples. She is distraught and her father in-law is harassing her daily with phone calls demanding his 50% of Johnnies knives even though he has already taken $3,000.00 worth of knives and Johnnies belongings. This is very bad for her especially at this time. She say's she would like someone she could trust, divide them up equally so she can get her in laws out of her life. Please keep her in your prayers.

If I were Lisa I'd tell him to go pound salt and that he'll get what I give him when I'm ready. And I'd get a protective order to keep him away and to stop him from calling.

I asked her to contact the police and get a PPO as well. She is very upset with her in laws that feel that everything that Johnnie owned is half theirs and they want it now. Most despicable situation I've heard of. Greed brings out the worst in people and to do this when she is hurting the worst.

In my country the my partner owns 50% of every thing .
When a partner pass on the other own a 100%. So in my way of reasoning they are taken Lisa knives.
What gives them the right to take her goods. If she wants to give some away that's her right .If she wants to keep them that her right.
These people are trying to take away her rights. What type of people are they.

Lisa may want to talk to a lawyer - spouse and children (if any) have the right to the property in most states. If no will was written, then the court will determine what share belongs to who. OH

Sounds like she is just too kind-hearted to tell off the inlaws like she needs. Any of our AAPK Brothers close enough to go hold her hand and be the a-hole for her?
I would in a second if I were close enough
Hang tough Lisa. Don't let them bully you!!

My son in-law works for Martinet Law in Phoenix. I'm going to have him talk with Lisa and advise her as to what to do.

Definitely contact the police and an attorney.....
They probably have no right to anything that was johnnie's!
Soooo, soooo, sad for people to act this way after one has passed....so sad. So sad johnnie is gone....

Thank you to all of you. I will start taking care of this tomorrow. Johnnie had our house in his dads name. It was suppose to go in my name before Johnnies death, but he went to quickly for it to be done. I am suppose to meet his dad at DMV tomorrow to put the house in my name, the harley in our sons name and I will hand over the title to Johnnies truck to his dad and Johnnie gave it to his dad.
Last night I laid in bed and thought about just grabbing a bunch of the knives that I thought was half and dropping them at their door. I just wnt them out of my life. I just want to grieve for my husband who has not been gone 3 weeks yet.
I will not make that rash decision. Once I have the titles to what I need to tomorrow I am going to wait for Jims son to contact me and see what I can legally do.
And Yes, I have a hard time telling off Johnnies parents. I know I shouldn't but they are his parents. I just can't understand why they are doing this to me.
Once again there are not enough words to thank you all **hugs**

What you need is legal representation and a restraining order against your father-in-law before he steals you blind.
I suggest you not give another thing without first having a competent attorney review all the agreements between Johnnie and his father.
The man is a first class jerk and he's striking while the iron is hot and you're depressed and grieving.
He thinks he can score big while you're down.
DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH ANOTHER PENNY!!!

Be tough, Lisa.
You know we all love ya here.
Get some legal advice on protecting your assets. If Johnnie has specified certain items to go to his father, give only those items to him and have him sign for them. I think a lawyer would be money well spent on your part.
I have no respect for vultures like your father-in-law.

This is not good at all.
He needs to be in jail until he can learn anger management and how to deal with the loss of his son.
Every single thing I own will belong to my wife If I go first.
Please stay safe and get a protection order.
Some one is a fry short of a happy meal.

the paramedics were already here. The police have not shown yet, but all the tenants in the park are going around saying that I forced my way in the house and that I cut up his face!! When he found out that I call the police he injured himself. I will most likely go to jail, but my dad is here and said he will follow me down and get me out. I have left a message with Jim's son in law and will be pursuing a law suit against his parents.
Our house is in his dads name so I know he will throw me out, but I will make sure that he doesn't get one single thing of Johnnies knives.

Lisa, I have never in my life heard of such vicious greed. Please stay away from him and talk to my son in-law.

First and foremost, you cannot force your way into your own residence, second, he cannot throw you out of your residence without going through legal eviction. If he has a key to your place you may want to change the locks.
