Well when I bought the ffa knife, i also eyed this 125ot with no shield. The lady was asking $25. It was used but the action was still strong and the stamp on the main blade clear. Did I let a good one go by cause it had no Old Timer shield. Thanks

It comes down to the condition of the knife .If it was a user the shield makes no difference . Look up this site it will give you a bit of a idea of price.

I have an extra shield or three if you can still get the knife.

How much for a shield? And whats the best way to put it on super glue, crazy glue? Thanks Dale

Is the shield silver colored or brass? I think most were silver on the 125, but Schrade did switch them on some patterns.

The best glue is 2 part epoxy.
If you drop the knife just right the super glue bond can be broken.
I usually only use super glue on knives if it is a bond I want to be temporary, one I can break loose later.

Ok thank you I will go this weekend to double check and make sure ,I think it's the silver shield. Then I will PM my address. Thanks again. And the baking soda worked so well on the ffa knife I used it on my other knives from when I was a kid. The knives were in rough shape because I just left them in my tackle box and forgot about them but they look better than they did! I wish I knew then what I know now, oh well lol

Agree about the value. Since it's used the shield probably doesn't make much difference anyway. And for $25 it's good price regardless, as long as it's in good useable condition. If it's physically broken or worn to the point that's no longer functional, then it's $25 too much.

thanks for the input Bob, yeah I think Im gonna pull the trigger on it. I enjoy the history behind these vintage USA made knives. I have only seen one other one at an antique store with the sheath and the guy was asking $75 but similar condition and had the shield.

Last night I watched a 225H two bladed Schrade Walden hunter, circa 1957-59, flat-ground, un-used, with flawless jigged bone handles, not Delrin, go by on ebay for $49. Read it and weep.

Geez Cal I wish I'd have seen that!! I've got to pay better attention!
