All About Pocket Knives

Here´s a doctors knife form FnR that has been on the german Ebay for ages. I wasn´t too keen on this type of knife but they have grown on me (like so many others patterns...). A few days ago I got it for the minimum bid and after a quick polish I must say that it looks quite elegant to me with it´s Christmas handles.
Now I have to look out for some company for this little physician.

Does anybody know from which year this one could be?

Frank,nice knife,but I wouldn't let her come close to any of my knives.

I have one that's dated 1996 but I think your's looks earlier than that. 1980s maybe?

Crap! That means mine is Celluloid. I thought it was acrylic and I was rid of all my Celluloid. Anyone want to buy it for a million dollars?

But on the brighter side, I was right about Frank's knife being from the '80s.

Yeah, I read that. That's why I bought the knife in the first place. 'Cause it's purdy.

I have another Fight'n Rooster that now I find is Celluloid. Frogs.

Does this mean my Bulldogs are also Celluloid? I feel so used.

Parker calls the Bulldogs..acrylic blah blah blah of some sort

Au contraire mon frere. You are not blaming Jerry for this train wreck. My first post was not only a Fight'n Rooster but a Fight'n Rooster Doctor knife same-same Franks Fight'n Rooster Doctor knife, plus a spot on guess on the age. AND my second post was a Fight'n Rooster with just a mention of Bulldogs.

Shazam! Along comes Tim with a Bulldog (not a Doc) and now we have a derailment.

Oh, wait. That's not good enough. Up pops Gus with an Eye Brand (also not a Doc). NOW we have a train wreck.

Youse guys are tooooo much.

Nevermind guys, thank you for the information. So it´s a 1980ies knife. Regarding the cello and it´s precarious nature: I have a folder just for cello-handled knifes.
After all, the knife lasted for over thirty years, I hope it´ll stay in one piece for another couple of years.

I have a few cell FR and I keep an eye on them but don't fear them. I have only seen very few FR gas out. Those are nice doc knives you and Jerry have.
The Bulldog's that are posted on this thread are not cell in my opinion.

Definitely a thing to watch out for! I just wonder if keeping them in a folder/briefcase is a good thing or a less closed way of storing them would be better?

Frank everything I have read and from talking with ppl on AAPK and other sites it is best if they are left open to breathe.
I keep my celloyed handle knives in a glass top case that is well ventilated and so fair they are fine. Most are 1980 to 1985 end of day handles and I haven't had any trouble. I have one that is a 1978 butter and molasses and it is still as solid as a rock.

So taking them out of the folder would be best I suppose. I need to get me a nice knife cabinet....
