Heres a pretty nice Remington Purina Advertising knife still in its original box. The knife has never been carried or sharpened. That's a light bulb reflection on the main blade.

Yes, that handle material will outgas , I keep it separate from my other knives.

The Purina and the tortoise shell pyremite seem to go bad.
