Hard to find knife and harder in the box with little paper and string. They demand a hefty price.
I think they are more scarce than the 2OT.

I followed the knife and threw everything I had at it but came up a little short ::dang::

I have never seen one in unused condition, in its original box and would have loved to own it ::nod::

I'm hoping that whoever won it, is going to share some detailed photos of the knife, someware on the web, so we can all enjoy it. It would be a shame if the knife ended up in the back of someone's safe :x

I've got no idea why the 80T would be worth so much, even with the box.

I'd much rather have an 881 Mint, like this one --->http://www.ebay.com/itm/291024637833?ss ... 1555.l2649

They only made the bone handles for about a year than changed to delrin.

I am quite sure in my own mind that this knife has been re-handled. I have original bone-handled 881s and they don't look anything like that. This bone looks very much like that which was put on the Schrade/IXLs in the early 1980s and the Parker contracts of the late 1970s.

All I know is I have a well worn one ( Mine has a crack in the handle ) and Koldgold has one.
If you look at the topic:They are rough sawn bone.

it was a good example of a rare piece of history , although for 600 odd bucks i would have liked have seen it in its original cellophane wrapper and the gold embossed $5.00 price tag , the sale price was outa my league but still a great pickup for someone's collection , i too hope the new owner posts some more detailed pic's ::nod::
