hello yall

I am new here and don't know much so please cut me some slack. I bought this trapper some yrs back ( I believe before 2004) and for most of its life its set in a friends knife sharpening kit. I'm sure its not some high dollar collectors Item, just wanting to get a lil info on it. The fit and finish is outstanding, everything lines up nicely and the springs are very stout.

I cannot find a model number any were. Its a trapper with with like a brownish to black jig bone (not sure if its real bone) insert that doesn't have a schrade medallion any were on the handle. One blade has "Schrade Super Sharp" on the blade and SCHRADE+, U.S.A LTD. on the tang of same blade. no markings whatsoever any were else. Can yall tell me what I have here? Appears to be a nice lil knife, I guess I didn't appreciate it near as much in the past as I do now. Thanks in advance for replies

Does your knife look like this picture.Bone handle made for a few years before Shrade closed in 2004.
Some call them a TENNESSEE TRAPPER.

so safe to assume it was made in the USA? Is it real bone?.. Prolly 440c blades?

I actually wasn't aware Schrade closed shop (yes I live in a cave. lol) One thing for sure is you cant go by brand names anymore and EXPECT to be buying an American product. Not to long ago I bought a what I assumed was an American made knife and I was done out the store before I notice "made in china" on the box. Also bought some new binoculars and a range finder with a brand name advertised as "American made" but I was done home before I realized they were made in china as well. Needless to say I look at my purchases much closer these days and don't just see a brand name and assume I'm buying American made.

thanks..
Randy

Back some years ago I found myself having my meals at the Asheville Buncomn County Mission. On Veteran's Day kids came from one of the high schools and played patriotic songs to honor the vets. After the music they asked the vets to raise their hands and then passed out little American flag pins. When I looked on the back of the pin I saw the made in China sticker.

They also used the same knife in a cigar box offering.
