Howdy folks , from Iowa

I go by the same handle in real life as on all the forums I visit. I'm younger than I feel, and much dumber than I might sound at times. I'm changing careers so I'm in college at the present time and will graduate in March with my Bachelor of Science degree.

Recently I've been collecting all the knives I've bought, inherited, found, or acquired over the last 40 years. This (so far) includes Schrades, Queens, PIC/Japan, and Bucks. I know I have a few more someplace that put away for safe keeping but they are so safe that I forgot where I put them. :? The amount isn't extensive and I don't think any of them are collectable much less worth more than when they were new but I can't find much info on them, if any.

Anyway, I'll put up some images of them in the most appropriate topic if that's OK.

Thanks for the all the welcomes everyone! ::groove:: ::tu::

I'm not a knife collector (per sae) but I always like to learn about things. I do collect about anything old however, and old equipment that works is my favorite collectable type item. So, in effect I guess knives fall into the category of 'don't just toss it simply because you find it old', like a lot of folks do. ::facepalm::

Some of the names on this forum look familiar from a gun oriented forum I belong to, if you are a member there too, please fess up. ::suspense:: ::hmm:: ::paranoid::

Hi Randy. Welcome to AAPK. ::welcome::

From looking at your avatar picture I suspect you may be a rock hound as well ? That's a good looking celt.

No not really, I was just in the right place at the time. ::groove::

Thank you. ::tu::

I was told it was one of the earliest stone tools due to the 360* groove. But I don't really know for sure. That was told to me by two different amateur geologists. One was a DNR agent here in Iowa, and the other was a college professor in anthropology. Both admitted they were simply guessing however. That was the extent of my investigation of it. ::facepalm:: ::shrug::
