Hello everyone! My name is Jared, and I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to find this website! I stumbled upon AAPK while doing some research on an old Case knife that I bought. I have been collecting knives for about 12 years now (since I was 11 years old), but my favorite brand would have to be Case. About a year ago, I began restoring old axes and hatchets, and now I'm thinking about adding some knives to my current projects! Thank you all in advance for having me! I look forward to learning as much as I can!

Welcome aboard Jared.
Be sure to check out the knife restoration and knife modification forums if you want to work on knives.
Lots of great info there but BEWARE: knife repair is FAR more addicting than knife collecting.
In addictiveness it is the difference between beer and heroin!

TJ, I'm currently living in West Louisiana, but I've lived all over the state.

Mornin' Jared, the reason I asked is that my wife's family is from Southwest Louisiana. Her mother was born in Sugartown and raised in Dry Creek, La. in Beauregard Parrish.

dx313, Welcome to the AAPK forum. It's good to read of a young man enjoying knives

, especially a traditional knife and then be interested in hatches and axes

. Hope you enjoy the forum, it's a great place to learn about any thing with a sharp edge and then some...

Welcome Dx.
My primary interest is in vintage folders, but, like you, I also collect old hatchets and axes.

TJ,
It sure is a small world! I'm working about 10 miles from Sugartown in a small town called Elizabeth. I'm sure your wife's family knows where that is!
