I dont know exactly when schrade made these for hawbakers, but its a schrade cut co tang stap, so it dates pre 1946

Wow that's a beauty! I think the pattern came out sometime between 1934 and 1936. Here are a few photos; one's a catalog page from the 1936 catalog supplement marking the first appearance of the knife (the knife pictured is the same as the catalog model, a bit more pocket worn than your example! 
), and the others are the original pattern masters of the hawbaker blades, dated 1934.
