Hey fellas,

I have a nice ole Olbertz stockman that the wood handles are starting to warp and pull away from the liners.

Is there an epoxy that can be injected in the gaps and then clamped?

Or is it ready for a rehandle?

I would use Zap-A-Gap medium (green label) if I couldn't get much glue in there.
Clean under there first with 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove oil, dirt & crud. Blow out with compressed air. Repeat cleaning until you get no crud out.
Naturally let it dry before using glue.

If you deem it possible to work some heavier glue such as an epoxy; follow the same cleaning procedure and work a slow curing epoxy under the handle with a toothpick, a business card, dental pick or what ever you have then clamp it. After clamping, wipe off the excess glue immediately. Keep the piece of paper or what ever you mixed the epoxy on (I use a scratch pad of paper) and test the glue so see when it is almost set up, (the bottles will probably tell you the setup time; e.g. 1 hour). Then remove the clamps, peal off any epoxy that has oozed out, reclamp and allow the glue to cure.

When the recommended curing time is reached, remove the clamps and you should be good to go.

I see there is a tool, tweezers, toothpick or something in the handle at one end.
Be careful, I would recommend extreme caution when gluing the end where the tool is.
You must be very sparing with the glue or you will install the tool permanently!

Well Dale it is much better than it was! The glue seems to hold very well.

I have went back and filled the remaining cracks after i took this pic.
