Half-whittler...state shield

I have seen German Eye canoe's with a Kentucky shield (along with other states)...but this is the first half-whittler I've seen. Wondering what the story is with these various state shields from a German company...also, how many patterns and states are represented with these type shields?
Not sure when this knife was made..blades have no # on them...but the stamp looks current to me. It's C.Schlieper curved over logo with Solingen underneath.
Once again I'm trying to get educated :) ...many "thanks" for your time.

I can't give you any information about your knife but I can tell you this isn't the first knife I've seen with a state of Kentucky shield. In fact, I have a Bear & Son Jack Rabbit Special that was a Red Hill Cutlery exclusive, thus the Kentucky shield on this knife.

In 1974, Queen released a Salute to Kentucky pair of knives with state of Kentucky shields. Maybe also a Red Hill exclusive?? ::shrug::

Maybe your knife was a Red Hill exclusive. ::shrug:: It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask. (270) 351-5493

Thank-you Jerry...appreciate your insight. I live just a few miles from Red-Hill...hopefully they may shed some light on these shields.

Thanks again,

The older Eyes had canoes with state shields. I do not recall them being on other patterns. I'll try to find a photo of one. I don't know much about the newer Eyes. I just don't follow them.

Thanks for the photos and responses...much appreciated. I've searched the internet also...not a lot there other than the older canoes. Being that I'm from Kentucky and I like German Eyes...think I'll put it with my keepers. Thanks again for the feedback! ::tu::
