All About Pocket Knives

Done some trading with one of the ""Local Knife Makers"" at Wednesday's Market and came away with one of his ""first trys at folders"" He is very young (under 20,I think??) and has been making fixed blades for a few years---- he's now started to get into making some folders / flippers, and I really think he will turn into one of the top makers,if he keeps going / stays interested !!!!___ the knife below is a ""Flipper"" w/stud, 4 1/2 inches,Amber Bone scales,"fluted brass bolsters", 01 tool steel with file work --- opens with ease,and locks tight as a drum !!!!____ very slight gap beteen the scales and bolster is the only ""nitch"" I can see, but I'm not nit-pickey ___ thoughts on this one from R & A Knife Makers of South Carolina **** ??????

That's ones find looking knife, the young man has a future if he sticks with it.(

It looks cool Monk try not to drop it! Did he fashion the bolsters and all else or was it a kit knife that he put together and fit handles on and did file work? I know that is popular with the kids when it comes to fixed blade knives (adults too) so I assume they have folding knife options as well. Just curious...

I really don't know, if it's a ""kit"" thing or not ??? I assumed he did the work himself ??? I know on the fixed blades,they cut the steel, using 01,D2, & 1095 carbon*** also they sharpen with a ""WHEEL''' then work em' on diamond stones & ceramic rods** for a scary sharp finish !!!____ next time I'm up there ,I'll ask him
