USMC Custom Kershaw

This is a Kershaw Wild Turkey, mdl # 4150, that I customized for a friend of mine.
For the handles I used amber CSB and inlet an Eagle, Globe & Anchor, which most of you will recognize as the Marine Corps emblem.

The handles are a little wider at the rear to give a better grip, but it seems I have neglected to get a picture that shows the taper.

I love this pattern and often carry one myself. It is easy to open one handled, just grab the blade and gently flick your wrist downward and the frame pivots down and the blade locks into place. I find it really when I need a knife and my other hand is occupied.

I hope he will enjoy it and use it.

Sorry for the lousy pics, the indoor lighting makes the brush finish on the blade and bolsters look dark in spots.

Excellent Dale. Love those handles. If he doesn't like that, 30 days of mess duty should get his mind right.

Thanks Jerry & Glenn.

You are right Glenn, that amber CSB looks good on anything you put it on!

Have you ever been totally surprised and overwhelmed by someone?

Well this morning I made my 1st solo trip to town after my knee surgery, went and got gas in my old Ford truck, took 18 gallons, then I got 3- 5 gallon cans for the lawn mower and headed home.

Noticed the tracks in the dirt road where the mail man had made his run, so I stopped and got the mail. 3 or 4 items and one big priority mail envelope from Salem, Oregon. What in the world? Got in the house and sliced that baby open and I was never more surprised! There was the Marine Corps coaster that I remembered seeing at the head of this thread. A note on a business card from ORVET CUSTOMS and then there was something still taped to the inside of the envelope. Out comes the USMC Custom Kershaw that Dale had posted! Wow ::ds:: !!

I thanked Dale for the wonderful surprise and he responded that I probably needed cheering up after the surgery, he understands, he got the scars to prove it! My original reading of this thread prompted me to wonder what would Dale charge to make another knife like that? Little did I know, I was the intended recipient of the USMC Custom Kershaw. It's a great customized knife but the thought behind it is much greater to me, thanks again Dale, my friend!

Awesome knife Dale. It shows the skill of one of the best 'knife men' running around, and the compassion of a true gentleman.
Even though it isn't a Schrade, it is a superb style of knife, with magic scales. You deserve all the praise that is heaped on you Dale, an excellent job.
Tony.
